POLICE are appealing for information following an altercation in or around a Kendal pub which has left a 39-year-old man in a critical condition.
The incident happened in the early hours of Friday morning outside the Mason's Arms public house in Stramongate.
Police say that at around 4.40am the man, who had sustained a head injury, was taken to Westmorland General Hospital, Kendal, and later transferred to the Royal Lancaster Infirmary.
The area was cordoned off while members of the crime investigation team examined the scene.
A 39-year-old man has been taken into police custody for questioning.
