POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a suspected arson attack on a house in Collin Croft, Kendal, last night.
Officers believe the building, which was occupied at the time of the incident, was deliberately targeted when a ‘large amount’ of cardboard stacked outside the front door was set alight.
The fire had been put out by the time police arrived at the scene.
A Cumbria Police spokeswoman said the incident occurred between 10.45pm and 11.15pm.
She added: “Life would have been endangered if the fire had not been put out as soon as it was.”
