A HOME is being sought for Britain’s oldest cow following her owner’s decision to retire from his South Lakeland farm.
Twenty-seven-year-old Clara has been a star attraction at Docker Park Farm Visitor Centre, near Arkholme, for the past two decades.
Before that she was a productive dairy animal on the farm, producing more than 43,000 gallons of milk and 16 calves.
Now Clara’s 65-year-old owner Geoffrey Ford is seeking a new home for her as he runs down the farm in readiness for his retirement next March.
“Clara has been at the farm since day one and it will be sad to see her go,” said Mr Ford.
“But I’m hoping someone will give her a good home – or maybe take over the farm as a going concern.”
Docker Park is a working farm, which also offers activities for children and adults including animal feeding, egg collecting and tractor rides.
