A MOUNTAIN biker rider died following an accident on the A685 South Road at Kirkby Stephen on Saturday evening.
Cumbria police said there was a collision involving the red mountain bike and a white Peugeot 206 van.The cyclist was taken by ambulance to the Cumberland Infirmary at Carlisle but subsequently died. Details of the deceased have not yet been released but police said the van driver and cyclist were both from the local area. Witnesses are asked to contact Cumbria police on 01768-891999.
