SPEED camera vans have been given a re-vamp to make them more visible to passing motorists.

The makeover, which was unveiled at a roads safety day in Keswick last week, comes after motorists complained they found it hard to see the vans which monitor 47 speeding hotspots across the county.

Public relations manager behind the initiative Kevin Tea said: "I think we can safely say that the new design is striking and if people are driving and observing the road then they will have no difficulty in recognising the vans."
