A FAMILY has spoken of their ‘shock’ at the death of an Ulverston man who collapsed at the docks in Barrow.
Tony Robinson, 36, was treated by paramedics on disused land owned by Cumbria County Council at the back of Ramsden dock road, but he died at the scene.
Mr Robinson, of Lime Tree Road, Ulverston, leaves behind his wife Jenna who he married five years ago at the Abbey House Hotel, Barrow.
She said: "It is a very distressing time for me and my family. This has come as a complete shock to us. He was a fantastic husband and father and we will miss him dearly."
Andrew Hewitt, Tony's father-in-law said: "He was a good lad, a good role model for the kids, and we couldn't have wished for a better son in law."
Cumbria Police are continuing a joint investigation with the Health and Safety Executive following the death. A post-mortem has been held which identified a neck injury, which may have been a contributing factor in his death.
Police and the HSE are currently working to establish the circumstances leading up to his death in order to rule out suspicious circumstances, and South and East Cumbria coroner Ian Smith has been informed.
