WITH temperatures set to plummet again, the RSPB is urging people not to use salt as as a de-icer in bird baths.
The charity warns that salt is toxic to agrden birds and instead suggests using a small floating item such as a twig or a cork to keep the water moving, preventing it freezing solid.
