NINE members of Ambleside and Langdale Mountain Rescue service were called out to help a woman after she slipped while walking on an icy path at Alcock Tarn, Grasmere on Friday, (November 18).
The woman, who was from Cheshire, suffered a fracture to her ankle and was taken to Westmorland General Hospital for treatment.
Nick Verrall, the team leader of Langdale and Ambleside Mountain Rescue Team Leader warned walkers to look out for ice building up on footpaths.
