ONE of the best loved stories of all time comes to Lancaster this festive season, when Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol opens at the Dukes.

Miserable old Ebenezer Scrooge is played by Simon Armstrong (pictured), leading a strong cast of 11 directed by Robin Belfield.

It promises all the imagination and spectacle that the Dukes' Christmas shows have become renowned for in an adaptation that remains faithful to the novel.

Carol singers, magic and laughter combine to create an unforgettable show to warm up not only the winter evenings but also the coldest of hearts.

And this year there will be two performances on both Christmas Eve and on New Year's Eve to remind everyone just what Christmas is really all about!

A Christmas Carol runs from Friday (November 25) until January 7. Details and tickets are from the box office on 01524 598505.
