IT IS going to get much fishier in a newly refurbished section of the Lancaster canal...
British Waterways has installed a new fish easement' in the canal during a project to refurbish a weir at Farleton Beck.
The £125,000 work was done to add maximum benefit to the fish population within the catchment and to prevent the weir from being an obstruction to fish.
The fish population is now expected to increase over the coming years.
