I BELIEVE we should relocate the Maritime Museum from Lancaster's quayside to the Morecambe Town Hall site. By doing this we would take it to the seaside, where it belongs and where it suits the environment.
We could also hold the Maritime Festival in Morecambe because it has venues such as The Smuggler's Den, which has a history of piracy going back centuries, and Poulton was originally a small fishing village.
The building that currently houses the Maritime Museum could then be sold to make a significantly larger profit by conversion into flats then Morecambe Town Hall would.
