IS IT right that soldiers that from the Border Regiment, many from Lanc-aster area, should be risking their lives for a war launched by Blair and Bush on our behalf? I think not.
But more significantly, nor do the majority of British people, according to recent opinion polls.
They now want a clear timetable for withdrawal. yet Blair and Bush have no exit strategy and Jack Straw recently admitted that UK troops could be deployed for up to 10 years.
Meanwhile, after eight more deaths and recent riots against UK troops, there are reports that British troops are at breaking point. How many more lives will be sacrificed before our governments realise they cannot impose democracy by invasion.
I urge readers to show their opposition to more deployments and the war.
A Kay, Lancaster.
