BELLA Vista's aura of invincibility was shattered last week on a night when the Kirkby Stephen 7-a-side football league really opened up. Carnt Say, last year's league runners-up beat the current champions 2-0 in a close encounter to give all the other teams renewed hope and to signal their own intentions of perhaps going one better this season. Topping the table at the moment though, with two wins out of two, are the Unlikely Lads, who beat the much fancied Weather and Trevor team by the odd goal while both Shruggers and Fubar grabbed their first wins, beating Local Boys and Melchester respectively. Things are looking very tight in the league at the moment as the action moves into week 3.
Results: Bella Vista 0, Carnt Say 2; Shruggers 1, Local Boys 0; Fubar 2, Melchester 0; Unlikeley Lads 1, The Weather and Trevor 0.
