SOME of Britain's top tour operators and a delegate from Belgium visited Cumbria last week to sample the area's hotels and attractions during a special showcase event.

The 50 tour planners started their visit at Holker Hall and the Lakeland Motor Museum near Grange over Sands, the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway and on board Windermere Lake Cruises.

The group were transported around in style on vintage coaches provided by Cumbria Classic coaches and also visited the Aquarium of the Lakes and Colony Candles in Ulverston.

The visit was supported by Cumbria Tourist Board and the Lake District Peninsulas Tourism Partnership and aimed to create new bookings for the attractions, destinations and hotels involved in the venture.
