FIRE prevention, crime advice and help with housing issues were on the agenda during the successful Streetsafe operation in Windermere.
Representatives from the police and fire services and housing associations visited more than 100 homes in the Oak Street area to offer help during the recent community relations blitz.
The area was selected for the visit because it lies within a ward of South Cumbria that suffers from a high number of domestic-related fires.
On the day, a smoke alarm was fitted for one resident, and dozens of community safety bags were handed out, including information on crime and fire prevention.
A further 25 questionnaires dealing with these issues were filled out and postal responses are continuing to be received by organiser PC Alistair Pease, of the Community Orientated Policing Team.
