VISITORS to the Three Peaks area of the Yorkshire Dales are being offered a new one-stop shop service to help them make the most of their holiday.

Settle-based Yorkshire Dales Guides, a specialist provider of outdoor and related activities, has launched the Three Peaks Activity Link, which co-ordinates a wide

range of activities tailored to visitors' requirements.

"One telephone call to us and we will do the rest. If we can't provide the activity requested, we will do our best to source someone local who can," said Dave Gallivan, who owns and runs Yorkshire Dales Guides from its Barrel Sykes offices.

"The idea is that we will put together a package of activities. For instance, someone might want to go walking one day and try his or her hand at canoeing or caving the next.

"But it doesn't stop there and visitors might be surprised by the wide range of activities that are available in and around Settle.

"The list goes on everything from photography and geology to health and fitness and first aid."

Mr Gallivan is keen for others to share his love of the countryside and is confident that the new venture will help to enhance the stay of visitors.

"It is also our contribution to rural revival and supporting the regeneration and economy of the area. By working alongside and with other qualified and experienced providers, as well as with local accommodation providers, we hope to help ensure a healthy and happy future for both the local tourist industry and the local economy."

Established in 1991, Yorkshire Dales Guides has also launched its summer schedule with popular guided evening walks in and around Settle, starting on May 5.
