FOR THE first time the North West Tourist Board (NWTB) and Cumbria Tourist Board (CTB) has teamed up with the Northwest Development Agency (NWDA) to launch a new glossy magazine style souvenir guide - Discover englandsnorthwest' - region to be cheerful.

The brand new 2003 consumer guide features the very best of England's North West, from stunning countryside to gracious stately homes, vibrant cities and glorious coastline, and world class museums to spectacular shops, plus a whole host of ideas of places and things to enjoy over May Day bank holiday weekend.

The 75-page guide has been designed to help visitors plan their stay ensuring they don't miss out on the Northwest's top and newest attractions. The North West Tourist Board (NWTB) is a partnership between VisitBritain, 39 local authorities and 1,200 tourism businesses in the region. Its role is to increase the benefits tourism brings to the region, currently worth £6 billion, supporting almost 200,000 jobs and representing seven per cent of the region's GDP.
