WALKS

- SUNDAY'S Booths Grand Prix time trial around Windermere kicks off the local cycling season with a bang. Lakes expert Gethin Butler of Preston Wheelers heads a star-studded line-up and the first rider gets away from the Rayrigg Road start area at 7.45am.

- KENDAL town FC have a big day when contesting the Marsden BS Lancashire Junior Cup final against Conference side Leigh at Accrington Stanley FC next Wednesday evening (7.30pm kick-off). Town warm-up against Bamber Bridge in the UniBond League's First Division on Saturday (3pm).

- RELEGATED Kendal RUFC play for the Peter Kremer Memorial Trophy in the derby match away at Wharfedale, their penultimate fixture in National League Division 2 (3pm kick-off). Kendal Colts face West Park St Helens in the Lancashire Colts Cup semi-finals at Mint Bridge on Sunday (2pm kick-off).
