EMERGENCY repairs on the A685 at Docker Bridge near Grayrigg have forced a 100-metre stretch of the road to be closed for a week.

The Highways Agency was forced to close the road yesterday, Thursday, after a drainage culvert under the railway bridge collapsed.

Though traffic will be diverted along the M6 and A6 Shap to Kendal road.

Diversion signs will being in place near the village of Tebay, near Morrisons supermarket in Kendal and on the M6 north of Shap, junction 39, for southbound traffic and south of Junction 38 for northbound traffic.
