RESULTS of the combined event between the Reebok X Challenge and the Mid Lancs X Country League have just become available.

Although Kendal AAC's Rebecca Robinson (U20) will not be targeting the Reebok Series she actually finished second and first in the Mid Lancs, 2min.

32 sec.

ahead of her nearest rival.

Another notable perform-ance was that of Steve Varney, although only one week away from his proposed Snowdonia Marathon he finished a creditable 51st overall and 2nd Vet 50, overtaking 17-year-old junior Danny Parkinson (8th) on the final lap of what is an unusually long course for a junior.

Other senior men were Pete Ackland 110th and Paul Percival Smith 144th.

In the senior ladies Christine Handforth lead the Kendal ladies home in 11th (21:10) Lucy Varneyfinished 20th (22:07), Dianne Priestley 27th (23:19) and Heather Goodman 40th (25:03).

Initial results showed Kendal Ladies finishing in 1st place however they had incorrectly included Rebecca Robinson (U20) in the overall results, once rectified the final position was 4th.

Although not happy with his own run Chris Doyle (U17) finished 15th (18-37) followed by Alisdair Russel, a much improved young athlete in 24th (19-16).

U15 girl Courtney Dennison showed that despite a lack of group training she had lost none of her fight in a good quality field, finishing 19th.

Yet another member of the Doyle family, Thomas (U11) was 11th and let's hope this is the start of another successful cross country career.

Tthe second race of the series will be at Barrow on Saturday November 16 where strength in numbers should boost team results.
