WITH Bonfire Night fast approaching, pet superstore group Pets at Home has teamed up with the RSPCA to launch an awareness campaign aimed at keeping pets safe on November 5.
They are reminding pet owners that fireworks are not restricted to Bonfire Night, and all pets should be kept indoors after dark both the week prior to Bonfire Night and the week following.
Curtains should be closed and a television or radio left on to camouflage outside noise, to increase the feeling of security for cats and dogs inside the house.
Rabbits and other outside pets should be moved into a garage or outbuilding, and caged birds will feel more secure in a dark and secluded spot.
