THE Army cadet force hopes to set up a new detachment to give young people in Milnthorpe and the surrounding area more to do in their spare time.
An open day and recruitment event is being held at Milnthorpe community centre at Dallam School on Saturday, October 5, from 9am to 4pm.
Sgt Major instructor Phillip Wilson said the aim was to provide extra activities for young people from Milnthorpe and the neighbouring villages.
The cadets are open to boys and girls, from the ages of 12 to 18-and-three-quarters.
