LOCAL community web site Virtual-Lancaster.net has started a simple-to-use online forum for local people to post car sharing offers.
The notice board is aimed at people who travel by car on a regular route to work.
"I know people get fed up with traffic jams," explained site news editor John Freeman.
"Yet If everyone who drives on their own to work every day caught a lift once a week the commuting car journeys would reduce by 25 per cent."
You can log into the forums and post your car sharing offers or wants.
The forum includes tips about personal safety when car sharing and links to national car sharing sites for people looking to travel further afield.
