STAFF at Settle's Tourist Information Centre were on tenterhooks last night (Thursday) ahead of the announcement of Yorkshire Tourist Board's White Rose awards.
Yvonne Fortune and the TIC's volunteer staff made it onto the final shortlist of 14, and as the Westmorland Gazette went to press, they were eagerly awaiting the result.
The presentation of the award was due to be made by John Craven OBE.
