VILLAGES are being offered direct access to new grant aid and specialist advice to help overcome problems such as accessing essential services, leisure opportunities and community facilities.
The Countryside Agency's Vital Villages initiative aims to make a real difference for 250 communities in the North West over the next three years.
Grants are available through the programme to fund the creation of parish action plans, to help maintain or introduce services such as child-care schemes and to support local transport schemes.
