AN OPEN verdict was recorded on a man whose body was found in Windermere on Boxing Day.
Keith Michael Roper, 41, of Luton, had been missing for several weeks, and his Rover car had been found left at Waterhead car park.
Lake warden Travis Goffin told an inquest how he spotted the body floating in the lake at Dovenest Bay on Boxing Day.
Mr Roper, who had worked at Luton airport, was identified by Police by finger print impressions.
The hearing was told that the cause of death was drowning, and no other injuries were found.
Recording an open verdict, South Lakes coroner Cyril Prickett said there was no evidence of how Mr Roper got into the lake.
