CLUB swimmers Hannah Fleetwood and Luke Biggins presented a cheque for £250 to Tony Impey Heart Reach who was guest of honour at Kendal ASC's latest club gala.

Katie Soane made an impressive start to the Kendal ASC year in the women's 100m breaststroke, lowering the championship record from 1984 with a time of 1-20.66 while Claire Jopson also claimed a championship record (4-52.60), beating her own previous best time in the women's 400m freestyle.

In a tremendous final length, Glen Robinson claimed the boys U14 100m breaststroke (1-28.62) just ahead of Jonathan Lumb and Cameron Hay.

A spirited swim by James Crowe grabbed the boys U12 50m butterfly (38.19) with Liam Robinson and Marc Robinson second and third.

The junior gents 100m backstroke saw Sam Glover gain a well-deserved win (1-14.96) and in an extremely close battle for second place Darren Stewart just touched out Jonathan Rigg.

Joe Speakman took the gents 200m freestyle title (2-10.96) but was chased hard by Matthew Clinton who finished in second with Sam Glover third.

Ann Howell claimed victory in the girls U14 100m freestyle (1-10.56) with Hannah Moseley second and Lucy Mackereth third.

The girls U12 50m breaststroke went to Laura Hogg (42.15) Laura Murray second and Adele Fletcher third.

Kerry McClurg (38.52) won the girls U11 50m freestyle event with Kirsty-Jo Blenkharn second and Hannah Rigg third.

In the U10s events the Boys 25m backstroke saw Joshua Stafford take first (21.20) Ross Kilshaw was second and Chris Proudfoot third.

Amongst the girls it was Rebecca Knipe (23.64) who claimed the U10 25m backstroke, with Rebecca Knowles second and Chloe Fletcher third.
