NEW floodlights, downstream from Nether Bridge in Kendal, are being misused by youths.
Police notified Kendal Town Council that the beams were being directed away from the Stramongate Bridge and nearby weir and onto other buildings and even into the sky.
The council is now looking into the cost of building cages around the lighting.
It is also considering installing three identical floodlights downstream from Lowther Bridge.
