PETER Cowley, a 52-year-old man from Brookside Cottages, at The Gill, Ulverston, was killed on Thursday (February 15) when his 900cc Yamaha motorbike crashed at the Melton Brow roundabout on the A590 near Dalton.
Mr Cowley suffered multiple injuries in the crash at around 3.45pm.
Paramedics tired to revive him but he was pronounced dead on arrival at Furness General Hospital.
No other vehicles were involved in the crash which blocked the A590 eastbound carriageway until 7pm.
