A MAN has been arrested in connection with a spate of bombings which included a charity shop in Penrith.
The 26-year-old man was arrested in the Crewe area of Cheshire after a multi-force operation.
A 31-year-old woman and a man of 36 were arrested later and three letter bombs were recovered.
The arrests follow a bombing campaign across the North of England which included the nail bombing of the British Heart Foundation Shop in Penrith at the end of January.
No-one was hurt in the Penrith blast, but the attack put charity shops in a state of high alert.
The bombings are believed to be the work of animal rights extremists.
