ULVERSTON can claim swimmers who will represent England later this year.
They are members of the intermediate girls team from Our Lady's, Chetwynde School in Barrow.
They have won through from the Bazuka national finals for secondary schools in London to swim at an international meet in Luxembourg in early April.
One of the successful team which took two silver medals, Catherine Pickthall, lives in Ulverston, while Charlotte Goodwin is a member of the Ulverston Swimming Club, and Philippa du Frayer is from Ireleth.
The team which competed at Crystal Palace were, left to right, back: Catherine Pickthall and Philippa du Frayer.
Front: Claire Cochrane and Charlotte Goodwin.
Also in the team to travel to Luxembourg will be Cloe Bell and Natalie Couling.
The Chetwynde junior boys' freestyle and medley teams captured the silver medal in both events to maintain the school's notable success over the years at the national championships.
