TWO enterprising projects to entice people out of their cars and into using public transport have been selected to receive Government funding.
A scheme to set up a smart card for use on public transport in Cumbria and north Lancashire was awarded £ 800,000, and a project to help co-ordinate an integrated transport system from a control room in Carnforth received £665,000 from the Department of Environment, Transport and the Regions.
