THE go-ahead has been given to allow paint-balling at a former clay mine on the edge of Warton Crag.
For several years, Wrights Leisure NW has operated a range of adventure activities - including paint ball war games, mountain-biking, archery, horse-riding and cave exploration - at the Paint Mines Wood at Crag Foot, near Warton.
Until recently, the games have been run on a limited basis, meaning planning permission was unnecesary, but increased demand for the activities prompted the company to apply to Lancaster City Council for regular use consent, and a temporary five-year consent has been given.
