The SOLWAY SHARK WATCH set for July - August this summer is a co-ordinated study into the status of the Basking Shark, approximately 22 associated marine species, plus a myriad of seabirds between Loch Ryan in the north and Morecambe Bay in the south.
The study aims to assist both the Cumbria and Dumfries & Galloway Biodiversity Action Plans increase knowledge of little known species and thus help in their protection.

If you are interested in participating by sea-watching at over 30 shore-based observation stations, at sea when yachting or fishing, or when professionally involved at sea or from micro-light or light plane passage, you will be most welcome.
SOLWAY SHARK WATCH is organised by the Marine Conservation Society and the Solway Firth Partnership, in association with the Coastal and Marine Working Group, and Cumbria Wildlife Trust.
