A GALAXY of stars from the local music scene are combining in one huge show spectacular at Ulverston's Coronation Hall.

The Show Must Go on extravaganza has been billed by organiser Dean Fawcett as "one of the hottest tickets of the year".

Songs from a mixture of musicals including West Side Story, Grease, Saturday Night Fever and The Lion King will be performed with thrilling dance routines from twinkle-toed artists.

Chris James, frontman of Kendal band Undercover, will be on stage as will Mike MacCauley from The Works.

Julie Flannaghan, Yvonne Patterson, and Andy Newsham add to the sparkle in a cast which reads like a Who's Who of the South Lakeland and Furness music circuit.

Dean has also formed a "Supergroup" to help him accompany the production, using the talents of Mike Newsham, Keith Halligan, Steve Harris and Damien Barlow to provide unique musical arrangements.

The production, which was a sell-out success at Forum 28 in Barrow, will be staged on November 3 and 4.

Donations will be made to the Furness General Hospital audiology department to help raise money for a middle ear analyser and the accident and emergency units.
