WHAT IS THE BEST THING ABOUT EDEN? When the sun is shining, the views over the Pennines can rival those of any destination you care to mention – although it can be a rare occurence.

But couple that with the laid back lifestyle and friendly residents and Eden is one of the best places to live in Britain.

AND THE WORST? The house prices! I can under-stand that everyone wants to live here but it makes it hard for young people to stay in the area.

FAVOURITE PLACE IN EDEN? My grandparents’ farm near Little Strickland. There is nothing better than a family gathering with free flowing booze and cackling aunties. They also probably have the best view of the Pennines.

FAVOURITE PLACE TO EAT? Undoubtedly The Purple Sage restaurant, which is Penrith's hidden gem. You will struggle to find a more welcoming, excellent value restaurant in the country. The food is second to none and locally sourced, we return time and time again and are never dissapointed.

FAVOURITE MEMORY Growing up on a farm providing bed and breakfast to tourists just outside Patterdale.

My brother amd I were always on the make for a quick quid and would sell anything shiny we could find in nearby streams.

My brother has to take the crown for the best scam though – he would charge tourists 50p to play a tune on his keyboard and simply hit the autoplay button.
