A WOMAN snatched from an exclusive beach resort in Kenya after her husband was executed is from Ulverston.
Judith Tebbutt, 56, and her husband David, 58, were staying at the exclusive Kiwayu Safari Village, close to the Kenyan border with Somalia, when the attack happened.
Mr Tebbutt died at the scene during the early hours of Sunday and a police witness said he saw Mrs Tebbutt being taken away on a speedboat.
Police in Kenya say they have arrested a man suspected of helping co-ordinate the attack.
The Kenyan military yesterday joined police in the hunt for Mrs Tebbutt.
Coun Judith Pickthall said: "Obviously we hope she is returned safely. I'm sure people don't go to Kenya thinking this sort of thing will happen - it's just dreadful."
