The Medical Director at University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust (UHMBT), Peter Dyer, is stepping down after two terms.
Mr Dyer will still fulfil his clinical role as Consultant Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon, as well being involved in a review of education, training and research at UHMBT.
Sir David Henshaw, Chairman of UHMBT, said: “I would like to thank Peter for his hard work, commitment and dedication over the past six years. Peter has a passion for education and training and will be of real benefit to this forthcoming review."
He said that the post would be advertised. In the meantime George Nasmyth, General and Colorectal Surgeon and Associate Medical Director, has agreed to become the interim Medical Director.
During his time as Interim Medical Director, Mr Nasmyth will continue in his role as an Associate Dean with the NHS North West Deanery.
