DERBYSHIRE's former Lancashire cricket ace was on hand to present trophies to Kendal and Netherfield CC players at the Palace Shield's awards presentation.
Kendal proved to be the most successful on the night as their first team were presented with both the Meyler Cup and the Premier Division runners up trophy, after a season in which they regained promotion back to the Northern League at the first attempt.
Kendal narrowly missed out on the Club of the Year award, but they were given a special mention after going undefeated throughout the second half of the season while Chris Miller missed out on the player of the year award despite taking 60 wickets throughout the season. In further success for the Auld Greys, Kendal’s second team skipper Paul Dodds was presented with the Division Two title after winning the league and Andy Dugdale picked up the Division Two bowling award.
Meanwhile near neighbours Netherfield saw their second team presented with the runners up trophy after finishing second in Division One B while Finlay Richardson won the top wicket keeper's prize in the division.
