EIGHTY children took part in Penny Bridge CE Academy's annual cyclocross event this year.
Children were encouraged to complete as many laps of the challenging course as they could in 15 minute blocks.
The course involved tight corners, steps, bankings and off camber sections but was excellently ridden by all taking part.
In the afternoon there were age grouped races with prizes donated from local bike shops Velo and Ride Bikes.
The children taking part in the day came from Penny Bridge, Leven Valley, Grange, Flookburgh, Pennington, Low Furness, Thwaites, Croftlands, Burlington, Allithwaite, Beetham and Ireleth St Peters.
"It was a fantastic event for all, the children competed with enthusiasm and it was great to get people together from different schools," said deputy head teacher of Penny Bridge CE Academy Graham Carrick.
