The UK has recorded 16,135 new coronavirus cases in the latest 24-hour period.
Between June 17 and June 23, 79,481 people had a confirmed positive test result.
This shows an increase of 43.9 per cent compared to the previous seven-day period.
And sadly, there were 19 deaths within 28 days of a positive test for coronavirus reported on June 23.
Between June 17 and June 23, there have been 101 deaths within 28 days of a positive coronavirus test.
This shows an increase of 53 per cent compared to the previous seven-day period.
In terms of the UK’s vaccination progress 43,448,680 people had been given a first dose by the end of June 22.
And 31,740,115 people had been given a second dose by the end of June 22.
