I’ve tested plenty of outdoor dining bits over the years, but Lakeland’s Blue Azure range might be one of the prettiest summer collections I’ve used in a long time - and right now the whole outdoor dining range is 25% off for the bank holiday weekend.

With barbecue season finally here, I wanted lightweight tableware that looked stylish enough for guests but wouldn’t leave me panicking every time someone carried a plate onto the patio.

That’s exactly why I ended up trying the Lakeland Blue Azure collection - and honestly, it gave me those “holiday lunch by the sea” vibes immediately, even in my own garden.

And with the current 25% off outdoor dining and picnic sale, it suddenly feels like one of the easiest summer upgrades you can make.

The salad bowl looked far more expensive than it was

The first thing I unpacked was the Blue Azure Salad Bowl and I was genuinely surprised by how premium it felt considering it’s made from melamine.

Usually, outdoor dining bowls can look a bit plasticky, but this one doesn’t.

The bold blue striped design feels very Mediterranean-inspired and instantly brightened up the table. I filled it with a simple salad for a barbecue and it somehow made the whole spread look far more put together.

What I loved most was that it’s:

  • Lightweight
  • Virtually unbreakable
  • Dishwasher safe
  • Large enough for family meals

At 22cm wide, it comfortably handled a big summer salad without looking overcrowded on the table.

And because it’s melamine, I didn’t have to worry about anyone dropping it. Yes, I am that clumsy.

The matching bowls and plates became my most-used summer buy

I also tried the Blue Azure Bowl set and plates they quickly became the pieces I reached for most.

They’re the ideal size for:

  • Pasta salads
  • Crisps and snacks
  • Fruit
  • Ice cream
  • Picnic lunches

I ended up using them far more than I expected because they’re so easy to carry outside and don’t feel fragile at all.

The matching striped pattern makes everything look coordinated without feeling overly styled.

And now they’re included in the 25% off bank holiday sale, they feel even better value.

The melamine platter was surprisingly useful

The Blue Azure platter ended up being the unexpected star of the range for me. I've used it every time we've had salad or a buffet and it still looks like new.

I originally thought I’d only use it for barbecue food, but I’ve already used it for:

  • Garlic bread
  • Baguettes
  • Sandwiches
  • Pastries
  • Fruit
  • Sharing snacks

Because it’s long and lightweight, it’s incredibly easy to carry in and out of the garden.

And unlike ceramic serving platters, I wasn’t terrified every time someone picked it up one-handed.

For summer entertaining, it just makes life easier.

The Blue Glacier Jug Set looks so good outside

I also tried the Blue Glacier jug and glasses set and it genuinely looks far more expensive than its price tag - especially now it’s reduced in the bank holiday sale.

The soft blue tint catches the sunlight beautifully outdoors and instantly makes even basic drinks feel more summery.

I filled the jug with homemade lemonade and later used it for spritzers when friends came round - and both times people asked where it was from.

The glasses are lightweight but sturdy, and the whole set feels designed for real-life outdoor use rather than just looking pretty on a shelf.

What stood out most was how practical it all felt.

Nothing was heavy.
Nothing felt breakable.
And everything washed easily afterwards.

Grab it now, before the sale ends.

My honest verdict

If you want outdoor dining pieces that make your garden table look stylish without spending loads, I genuinely think Lakeland’s Blue Azure range is worth a look — especially while everything is 25% off this bank holiday weekend.

It has that effortless “summer lunch” aesthetic that makes even simple meals feel a bit more special - but it’s still practical enough for everyday family use.

For me, the biggest selling point was not having to choose between:

  • Stylish tableware
    or
  • Durable picnic-friendly pieces

This range somehow manages to feel like both.
