RECENT fly tipping incidents in Thornley and Dunsop Bridge have prompted a partnership between Ribble Valley Police and Ribble Valley Council to deal with the issue.
Such offences occur across the county at great cost to council tax payers.
The police and local authority, however have announced that they will be working together to deal with what officers describe as a "blot on our landscape."
A police spokesperson said: "With partnership work and help from our community as a whole, we will try to locate trace fine or prosecute offenders.
"Should you witness anyone fly tipping please record as much information as you can such as vehicle registration and if possible a description of offenders, then contact police on 101."
