ANOTHER seven deaths have been recorded in East Lancashire Hospitals.

In the hospital trust, which operates Blackburn Royal Hospital and Burnley General Hospital, four Covid-19 related deaths occurred yesterday (January 13) and three occurred on Tuesday (January 12).

Blackpool Teaching Hospitals had one death on Tuesday (January 12) while University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust recorded on death yesterday (January 13).

Lancashire Teaching Hospitals which operates Royal Preston Hospital and and Chorley and South Ribble Hospital reported no deaths in todays figures.

This news comes as Covid-19 rates have fallen in most regions of England and across all age groups apart from the over-80s, in the latest sign that lockdown measures are having an effect.

In East Lancashire, a drop has been recorded in three of the six boroughs - Burnley, Pendle and Ribble Valley.
