LETTERS: Don't sell off housing stock
Cllr Dr Bharath Rajan (Podium, June 18, ‘Housing stock sell-off plans will harm the town’).
Housing stock should not be sold off to anyone as it reduces the number of properties available to rent.
This was a bad policy by Mrs Thatcher, which lead to fewer rental properties for those who could not afford to buy.
It makes no sense to do this.
There will always be people who need to rent so there must always be properties available.
