THE weather disrupted the Kent Valley junior Football League as only a small amount of games were played.

Most of the play was in the Under 12 League as Kendal United Colts climbed three points clear at the top of the league with a comfortable 8-2 home win over Kirkby Stephen. Billy Moffatt scored a hat trick, while a brace from Joseph Rigby, and goals by Dylan Hogg and Benjamin Waters completed the rout.

Milnthorpe United defeated Grange United 6-2 as Jack Crane fired in a brace while Ben Sansom, Jack Ponter, Daniel Matthews and Nathan Irving were also on target for the hosts.

In the final game Jamie Hudson’s hat trick eased Kendal United to a 5-1 win at Wattsfield on a wet Sunday morning. Jamie Harris also scored a brace while Charlie Connoll grabbed a consolation for the hosts.

The Under 13 League saw Ibis and Wattsfield United battle out a 0-0 draw while in the Under 15 League Heathwaite routed Wattsfield United Under 15’s 8-1. The score didn’t reflect the game, as Heathwaite were only 2-1 up at half time. However the visitors pulled away in the second half after Wattsfield had a goal disallowed that would have brought them back into the game.

Jack Gosling scored a hat trick for the visitors, while Tim Winnard scored a brace, before Peter Clough and George Hornby completed the scoring.

Wattsfield United got back into the game thanks to a clinical finish by Thomas Willacy. Heathwaite go up to second in the table while Wattsfield United remain in seventh place.
