As a cyclist and a driver I fear that post COVID-19 and even before there are going to be many more accidents between the two.

Cyclists are constantly told (and rightly so) that they should warn walkers of their approach from behind, in good time.

However vehicle drivers do not seem to understand that due to wind and road noise cyclists cannot always hear vehicles even tractors coming from behind.

I fervently believe that there should be a big drive to inform motorists to give a toot on their horn about 100 metres from behind, so as not to frighten but to warn the riders and walkers of their approach.

When traffic returns to nearly normal this will be a matter of 'life and death'.
