IN very few games to survive the weather conditions, a point against mid-table Morecambe Royals was enough for Carnforth Rangers to extend their lead at the Premier Division summit.
The game ended goalless with the Quarry Park side now nine points clear at top, with Caton United currently in second-place with a game in hand on their unbeaten rivals.
In the only other game in the division, Cartmel & District moved to within four points of Caton after a 5-2 victory over Swarthmoor Social Club at Cartmel Park.
Matthew Burrows scored twice the previous week as Cartmel made Black Dragon Senior Cup progress and repeated the feat, with Carl Airey, Joel Drinkall and John Lord also on target.
Cameron Barker and Graham Wilcock replied for the away side who stay 12th with no fixtures now scheduled until Saturday January 4.
