NETHERFIELD A are the early pace setters at the top of Division One in the South Westmorland Seniors Bowling League, topping the table with 18 points.
But Silverdale A are just a point behind with Warton A, who enjoyed a good away win, third on 16 points.
Netherfield B took advantage of their home game by beating Kirkby Lonsdale 8 - 0.
It is tight at the top of Division Two with just four points separating seven teams.
Bolton le Sands are top with 17 points with Carnforth A, Warton B, and Holme B all joing second with 14 points. Ingleborough A, Crosthwaite A and Bowness A all on 13 points.
The Division Three campaign is under way, Endmoor A began with an 8-0 home win over Subscription B.
Lower Holker B in holding second place with seven points, Lindale B and Springfield B are joint third place with six points.
It was also the first matches of the season in Division Four. Burnside B got off to a flying start, beating Langdale 8-0. Kirkby Lonsdale B won 7-1 against Sedbergh B and Endmoor B enjoyed a 6-2 win at Bowness B. Holme B won 6-2 at home against Levens B.
In Division Five, Burton in Lonsdale are top with seven points but this is only their first week.
Abbot Hall B won 6-2 and both Sedbergh A and Windermere B won their matches 5-3.
