MEGAN Jones made the trip to Manchester to take part in the North West Regions Age Group and Youth Long Course Competitions.
The Kendal swimmer pitted her skills against swimmers from the big clubs from Liverpool, Manchester, Cheshire and Lancashire.
In the 50m breaststroke, Megan got off to a slightly slow start but then a superb breakout saw her settle into her stroke pattern that took her to a respectable 10th place and just outside a place in the final.
She then produced a personal best time in the 50m backstroke thanks to a late powerful burst.
The heats of the 100m breaststroke saw her off to a great start and in a blanket finish, she did enough to clinch that all important place in the final.
In the final, another solid split time saw Megan dig deep into her reserves and she drove for the finish for a well deserved seventh place.
